 Ala-Too square

  One of the main attractions of Bishkek is Ala-Too square. This is a huge area for meetings and festivities. There are the State Historical Museum, Museum of Oak Park with sculptures and the oldest building St. Nicholas Church here. There is also flagstaff with the national flag 10x15 m on the square.

  It is noteworthy that from 1984 to 2003 there used to be a statue of Lenin, now there is a sculpture of winged woman "Erkindik," (“Freedom”). In 2011 there was put bronze figure of the hero of the national epic "Manas Aikol" Manas Magnanimous, height 10m. The same year, a monument of Chingiz Aitmatov was erected on the square.
